Samsung Galaxy Core I8262 is a dual sim pocket friendly Android running smartphone. It has decent power with dual core processor and good amount RAM. In simple words, Samsung wanted to provide a balanced blend of power, performance and good looking smartphone at affordable price. As on writing this post, the price of Samsung Galaxy Core is Rs.13,158.
Samsung Galaxy Core I8262 Dual sim smartphone sports 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen with a screen resolution of WVGA 480x800 pixels. The pixel density of this Samsung Dual sim phone comes around 216 ppi which is a decent for regular usage. The display screen has very good viewing angles as well the brightness is top notch compared similarly priced smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy Core is powered by 1.2GHz dual core cortex A5 processor with Snapdragon MSM8225 S4 Play chipset and adreno 203 GPU. The device has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which can be further extended using microSD card upto 64GB. The dual sim smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS along with Touchwiz user interface. Some of the features we have seen in Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 such as Smart Stay and Smart Alert also available on this device. The Smart Stay will make the screen dim when you are not looking at the screen which intern will save the battery life. The Smart Alert that bundles all the notifications that you might have missed. Also, simple motion controls enable to make frequently used actions easier like turning the phone over puts it on mute.
Samsung Galaxy Core houses 5MP rear facing camera with LED flash. This camera can record videos at 480p resolution at 30fps. There is also a VGA 0.3 MP front facing camera which will be useful during video calling with apps such as Skype or Google Hangout.The key features of Samsung Galaxy Core camera are Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection.
Coming to the battery of Galaxy Core, it has Li-ion 1800 mAh battery which provides max of 500 hours standby time on 2G and 300 hours of standby time on 3G, 14 hours of Talk time on 2G, 9 hours of 3G. The SAR value of the device is 0.29 W/kg (head) and 0.95 W/kg (body). The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy Core are 129.3 x 67.6 x 9 mm and weighs 124 grams.
Disadvantages of Samsung Galaxy Core:
No phone is perfect. Samsung Galaxy core also not an exception for this. Though it offers a lot for the price, it still lacks in few of the areas. Though these negatives of Galaxy Core are not a big deal breakers, it is good to know the cons of the device before buying the device.

- No HD video recording support: The Samsung Galaxy Core supports maximum of 480p video recording. It is bit of shortfall of the device considering there are device in the same price bracket which provides 720p HD video recording capabilities such as Sony Xperia M, Nokia Lumia 620, Nokia Lumia 520 etc.
- No Ambient Light sensor: This limits phones ability to auto adjust screen brightness. Samsung provides a quick shortcut to adjust the screen brightness but it could have been better if they have bundled it.
- Mediocre CPU and Chipset: The CPU on the device is based on the Cortex A5 architecture which is way older architecture. Though it is a dual core processor dont expect high performance. The Xperia M or Nokia Lumia 620, Lumia 520 etc comes with dual core Krait CPU which is much more powerful than this. Having said that, Samsung Galaxy Core does perform fairly on playing games or working on apps or watching videos. You will notice the lack of power only when you play high end games on this device.
