Syncing the contacts with online accounts such as google, Yahoo or Windows Contacts. These services will be very useful if you want to transfer contacts to new phone or even in the situations if you lose your phone, then you can get backup your contacts. All the Samsung Galaxy smartphones do support two types of contact syncing feature. One is through directly from the phone by adding the online account and enabling the sync option and the second one using the Samsung Kies free PC suite. The advantage of using Samsung Kies Free mobile PC suite to sync contact is that, you need to have active data plan on your cell phone. Once synced, you can connect your phone to PC, the data will be in sync.
So let us start to learn how to use Contact sync on Galaxy smartphones using the Samsung Kies desktop application.
Steps to Sync Contacts with Online Accounts Using Samsung Kies Free Mobile PC Suite
1. Download and install the latest Samsung Mobile PC suite. You can refer my earlier post on How download free Samsung Kies PC suite to learn more
2. Once the Samsung Kies applications is installed, run the application and connect your phone to PC using the USB cable.
3. Click on the Sync Tab from the Top tabs.
4. Click on the checkbox Sync Contact with as shown in the image. You can choose Google, Yahoo or Windows Contacts.
5. Click on Account preferences to enter your account details such as user name and password.
6. You can even choose other data such as Sync Music, Sync photos, Sync Videos and Sync Podcasts to enable sync with your online account.
7. Now you have two options. One is automatic sync when you connect your device to PC and another one is manual sync. To enable automatic sync, select the check box on the top or just click on sync button for manual sync.
8. Wait for a minute or more to complete the sync. You are done. Your data is saved in the cloud.
9. Now when ever you sign in to the account from any device, you can sync your contacts using the Kies PC suite.
Devices compatible with Samsung Kies Contact Sync: Almost all Galaxy smartphones running on Android operating system supports syncing of contacts through Samsung Kies Mobile PC suite. To name few I am giving the name of the popular Samsung galaxy Names.
